Milling & Fencing
All timber has a use and having the skills and machinery to find the best one gets the most value from the tree.
Quality Milling
We use as much firewood grade timber as we can, but wherever possible try and find a use for the timber.
This is important when considering carbon emissions and how best to store the carbon contained in the timber. Not just releasing it when burning firewood but storing it for longer in a fence, furniture or building.
Currently stocked timbers:
- English Oak – a great character timber for boards, posts and beams
- Sweet Chestnut – so many uses for Chestnut! Can be split for fencing stakes or cut for poles and posts but also milled for sturdy and durable squared posts and landscape sleepers ideal for garden projects
- Cedar and Larch – a lightweight and durable timber ideal for cladding, boards and posts.

Cut to Fit
We mill timber on site to the size you need, for fencing, landscaping, or building projects.
No Timber Wasted
Lower-grade logs get used too. If it’s not firewood, we’ll cut it for posts, boards or sleepers.
Stored Carbon, Not Burned
Using timber in fencing or structures keeps carbon locked in, a better option than burning it.
Durable Timber Types
Oak, Chestnut, Larch and Cedar regularly milled, ideal for beams, posts, cladding and garden use.
Strong & Local
Fencing stakes, rails, and boards milled from local timber, tough, dependable and built to last.
Straight from Source
